White Chocolate Party Mix

White Chocolate Party Mix

This is a family tradition! My mom made this when we were little and we all still make it today. It’s easy, it keeps for a long time and everyone loves it. I’m sure you’ve probably had this before – some call it “white trash,” but we call it white chocolate party mix. This falls into that category of foods that are good for the soul even if some don’t consider it good for the body. Although, it is technically packed with fortified nutrition, but just covered with vanilla flavored candy! Sounds like a win to me.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound white chocolate or vanilla flavored baking candy
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 4 cups Cheerios
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 or 2 12-ounce package Christmas colored m&m’s (I couldn’t find regular red and green m&m’s so I used a 12 ounce bag of minis and a 12 ounce bag of peanut)

Directions

Place all ingredients except the white chocolate in a large mixing bowl and mix well.

Melt chocolate over double broiler or melt on low heat in a saucepan and continually stir until melted.

Once melted, pour chocolate over cereal mixture and gentle stir in until all of the cereal mix is covered.

Spread mixture on wax paper or parchment paper and let sit until dry.

Put in airtight bags or containers and refrigerate to keep fresh.
