
Chocolate Chip Cookies
From the back of the Tollhouse chocolate chip bag. My mom’s mom, my grandma, swears by this recipe. She probably used Crisco and then later on margarine, but butter does really well. I get them out of the oven while they are still soft and almost not quite done. My daughter likes baking these – they are so good and it makes enough to share with friends!
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup pure cane sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large bowl until creamy.
Add eggs, beat into mixture.
Gradually mix in flour mixture.
Gently fold in chocolate chips.
Drop heaping tablespoon of mixture (or more depending on preference) onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 9-11 minutes or until just slightly browned on edges. Let cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes and remove to baking racks to finish cooling.
