Cinnamon Raisin Almond Butter

Cinnamon Raisin Almond Butter

This is so easy that it has encouraged me to try making other nut butters. The flavor is just sweet enough and there is no added sugar. It takes a little time to get the right consistency. It will be a little grainy at first, but if you keep processing, it will become smooth and creamy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place almonds on a cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.

Let cool for about ten minutes.

Put almonds in a food processor and process for about ten minutes. You may need to scrape off the sides a couple times and start back up.

Add raisins, cinnamon and vanilla extract.

Continue processing until smooth and creamy. This may take another ten minutes. Scrape sides if needed. Be patient, it will get creamy eventually.

Spread on whole grain toasted bread, whole spelt sourdough, or on apple slices.
