Barbecue Sauce
This turned out really good and keeps for a long time. I hope you enjoy!
Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup ketchup (I haven’t tried my fermented ketchup here yet, but I will when I have some on hand)
- 1/2 cup Just Panela unrefined, organic cane sugar
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoons Yellow Bird organic sriracha
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- pepper, to taste
Directions
Whisk the ketchup, sugar, 1/2 cup vinegar, coconut aminos, sriracha, salt and pinch of pepper in a saucepan. Taste and add remaining vinegar and/or more sugar, if needed.
Bring to a boil. and then reduce heat to low and let simmer, while whisking occasionally until the sauce has thickened to your liking. This may take 10-20 minutes, but it will also help the vinegar sweeten a little too. If it’s too tangy, just let it heat on low a little longer until you like it. You can also taste and adjust seasonings at this point too.
Let cool and store in the refrigerator or use right away!
Enjoy!
