Oatmeal

Oatmeal

This is a base recipe for oatmeal without the packet! My youngest child likes it flavored this way, but it’s good to add slowly in case it’s too sweet or you can add more if you like it sweeter. I tried soaking oats in yogurt and water for 12 hours in order to help with digestion and absorption of minerals, but it resulted in a slightly sour taste. However, my local Whole Foods starting carrying these organic sprouted oats and they work great. Now, that is the only kind of oat that buy and I use them in all of my oat recipes. We have a few people in our family who need more preparation for their grains because it helps the body absorb more of the nutrients and also aids in digestion so if you do too, you should try these sprouted oats.
