Easy Healthy Bagel Recipe

Skinny Taste Bagels

I have made traditional bagels, but my family loves these too! This recipe is adapted from Skinnytaste and is a quick and easy bagel recipe. I suggest doubling this recipe.

I have not tried these with a sprouted red hard wheat flour, but that is on my list. Although these aren’t sourdough, the grass-fed yogurt has some natural probiotics to aid in digestion and adds lots of nutrients.

This makes 4 bagels.

Ingredients

  • 1 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon course Celtic sea salt
  • 1 cup whole, plain greek yogurt
  • 1 egg white, beaten

Optional Toppings: Everything but the Bagel Spice, Sesame Seeds, Poppy Seeds

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees, put silicone mat or oil sprayed parchment paper on baking sheet.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, then add yogurt.

Dust work surface with flour, knead dough (approx. 15 turns). Dough should not stick to hands when done.

Divide into 4 balls, form balls, poke center or roll into ¾ inch rounds and join ends.

Top with egg wash and toppings.

Bake on top rack for 25 minutes.

Let cool 15 minutes.
