I didn’t plan my meals this week and I needed something easy for dinner. We buy beef, pork and chicken in bulk and store it frozen. So… planning a meal the day of is often difficult because I have to thaw the meat. However, I experimented today and it worked! I put a 5-6 lb pork shoulder in my crock pot that was frozen solid on high for about 7 hours, rubbed with my favorite diy pork rub mix and it worked perfectly for our favorite pork carnitas/pulled pork recipe! The only flaw was that in its frozen state, it didn’t fit in my old crock pot, but the aluminum foil helped until I could shut the lid. It turned out just as tender as always and shredded perfectly! I’m so glad I tried this!
